Jive Software Adds Integration With Microsoft Office 365

Both Jive Software and Microsoft are expanding their horizons in the cloud through a new integration unveiled on Tuesday.Dubbed Jive Connectors for Office 365, the product builds upon existing integration's from Jive for on-premise Microsoft solutions.

Connectors for Office 365 are meant to bridge the gap from the on-premise deployments to cloud apps, such as Outlook Online, Office Online, and SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

With this integration, employees will be able to pull up Jive and/or Office content and conversations from within either interface, depending on the use case. For example, users will be able to upload attachments, create and reply to Office email threads from within in Jive but also be able to access these conversations from the cloud and Windows desktop versions of Outlook.

Colleen Jansen, vice president of product marketing for Jive, posited in the announcement that links like this one between the social enterprise software brand and Microsoft gives employees the freedom to work across the silos that exist in the enterprise.

As it continues to position itself as a cloud collaboration hub, Jive has been ramping up the number of integration's and connections available on its platform. In the last few years, that strategy has included deals with Box and Okta.

Jive has also previously linked up with Microsoft (as well as Google Apps and Salesforce.com) through last year's debut of Stream Once, a platform designed to enable employees to have all of their business applications (i.e. email, CRM, conversations, document storage, etc.) in one digital space.
