Microsoft Issues DMCA Takedown Notice Against Halo Online Modders

Remember Halo online game trailer we told you last week? If you look now, you will notice that there is something more: Editorial Innova Systems was shot down in a copyright claim. And it is unlikely to see another in the short term, since Microsoft has issued a DMCA notice Github, forcing him to withdraw access to the files of the game and pitching.

Modders have been banging on Halo online since two of them, and Lord Zedd Gamercheat13, laid hands on him and helped create the YouTube video above Noble user. A group was also working on a launcher called ElDorito, which provides a framework for the game can be played as well as a custom console with lots of features that we believe are necessary for the game, according to a team member.

But yesterday, Microsoft dropped the hammer. We have received information that the domain listed above, which appears to be the server under his control, is offering unlicensed copies of, or engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyrighted works published by Microsoft, wrote in a note sent to the DMCA Github. Github, understandably, has complied with the request to remove the files, while the ElDorito team is a bit 'scared and put the project on hold.

Interestingly, while the pitcher was deep sixed, game files were real, at last check, is still available. The halo Wiki notes online that you can not create the link to download and so interested parties should look elsewhere. But elsewhere it is a hyperlink leading to Pastebin, which contains another link that leads to the Mega; and Mega is a 2.1 GB file called Halo Online.zip. I can not check the contents (and, for the record, fuck with it at your own risk), but it is reasonable to conclude that unauthorized construction game that started the whole business.

Halo online is not the hottest happen 2Fort online shooter thing. In fact, it has been built on the old Halo 3 engine so that it can run on low spec machines. But it is also, at least for now, only intended for release in Russia and as we all know, is not that people want something much about not being able to.
